Staring in front of the window, watching the rain and gloomy weather makes her calm, happy and beautiful on her 2nd birthday.
This is how my youngest daughter, Sawyer Chelsea celebrated her birthday once again. In the calm of a storm.
I can vividly remember last year, she turned one and I prepared for a grand celebration. My husband came home just for that day but the weather didn’t cooperate and nearly half of the guests made it. Inspite all that, we celebrated her life as a complete Family and it’s all that matters. ❤️
So, this year, I booked a 1 Bedroom Suite for her 2nd birthday. I opted for a staycation so we can all stay dry and my kids love to stay in hotels. I compared a lot of hotels before I booked and I chose Discovery Suites in Ortigas because it does not get flooded there and I read good reviews.
Check-in was fairly smooth. I told them it was Chelsea’s 2nd birthday that day so they had us wait on the Lounge Area at the 22nd floor while they prepare something in the room.
We were given welcome drinks at the Lounge Area and my kids enjoyed it as seen on the photos above. 😊
After 20-30 minutes, we were escorted to our room. I was surprised to see a personalized birthday banner, balloons and a whole birthday cake just for Chelsea!

For me, this is so amazing and generous of them. They even wrote a sweet note for Chelsea.
The room is so spacious with complete Kitchen amenities, a living room, dining table, separate bedroom and bathroom with a bath tub.
It is so spacious that my kids were able to play and just stay inside the room on our first day.I gave them a bubble bath and they enjoyed it the most. They had so much fun playing with the bubbles and it was an awesome sibling bonding for them.
After that, we sang the “Happy Birthday” Song and had a family picture with my husband on the iPad. 🥰
Before bedtime, Chelsea opened her gifts and had a mini photo-session c/o Mommy.
Day 2: Breakfast, Swimming and Play Area
We woke up early the next day to eat breakfast at the 5th floor.The buffet spread is pretty decent but not a lot of choices. Also, staff were not that friendly in the cafe and didn’t give a hand considering I have 4 kids.
We had pancakes, bacon, hashbrown, egg omelette and macaroni soup.
After breakfast, we went swimming to maximize our day. We had the pool all to ourselves. Maybe because it was too cold because of the weather.
The staff willingly assisted me in inflating the inflatable rings for the kids.There was a 4ft deep pool and a Jacuzzi on the side.It was not grand but I’m thankful that this is an indoor pool so my kids still enjoyed the water even when it’s raining outside.
And last but not the least, our staycation wouldn’t be complete without visiting the Play Area. Not all hotels have a play area for kids and this is one of my criteria in choosing a hotel to stay in with my kids.
There were 3 areas in the Play Room. One is for Reading. Second one is like a bedroom and the main play area where you can see the slide, swing, see-saw and the mini house.
There is an attendant in the room so someone will look after your kids too but they recommend not to leave them alone while playing. Best of all, there is no time limit on the play time unlike other hotels.
They also have a Kids Activity every Saturday and we were able to participate that day. Their theme is Tape Art Activity.

That concludes Chelsea’s 2nd birthday staycation and I would like to thank Discovery Suites Manila for making it extra special for my baby girl!
Special thanks to Ms. Jaja at the Reception. She is very polite, professional and accommodated our requests to the best of her abilities.
We really enjoyed the service that was provided and it was worth every penny and the distance from our home. In fact, we already booked another staycation as of writing.
Looking forward to another great staycation this weekend because my kids really want to go back. 💕
